Operation The Snow Cutter is for ripping up hard, icy sections of the ski slope and the tracks under drag lifts, or for stripping off glacier ice. It is used with the U-blade and the All-Way Blade. Operating procedure The tooth rail is lowered by the pivot ram, and used to break up icy sections of the slope into coarse lumps. These are reduced in size when the vehicle’s tracks pass over them, and finally prepared with the tiller. If a tooth strikes rock, the rail retracts automat-ically. Hydraulic adjustment is at a hand control and via the quick-change system. Design The Snow Cutter is an adapter located between the quick-change attachment system and the All-Way Blade, but can be removed and installed without dif-ficulty. Its strongly constructed tooth rail is of wear-resistant steel. The shaft is continuous, to ensure uni-form adjustment. |
