Skicross-Kids-Camp powered by PistenBully

23 March 2016

The first Skicross Kids Camp was held over the weekend of 19-20.03.16 under the leadership of Germany's best skicrosser Daniel Bohnacker, and an experienced DSV trainer. In cooperation with the ski paradise of Kranzberg Mittenwald, PistenBully hosted a great event for children aged 10-14, which was greeted with great enthusiasm by the kids who took part.

After the children were welcomed by Daniel Bohnacker and given their starting numbers, they went to inspect the route with DSV Coach Dennis vom Brocke, who shared some important tips for the subsequent races on the course. Everyone took part in a strenuous warm-up despite the springlike temperatures and beautiful blue skies. The kids were then led step-by-step through the individual elements of the skicross. The next generation of talented skicrossers quickly made progress with start training and trying out individual sections of the course, enabling them to tackle the entire run at racing speed in no time at all. After a short break, they then took part in countless direct duels in heats of two. This was followed by lunch, giving them a chance to swap their experiences of the day.

Daniel Bohnacker also enjoyed the skicross training, concluding after the event: "It was great fun to work with the children and to see them enjoying skiing on the skicross course". Our thanks go to the skicross star and to the DSV coach for preparing the course, and of course to the Kranzberg Mittenwald ski paradise for the best conditions in fabulous weather. Last but not least, we also need to thank all the kids for taking part with such enthusiasm. Every aspect of the event was a success, and it was fantastic to see how quickly the children made progress on the course and how much fun they had while doing so.
