Strategic partnership

14 February 2014

Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG's innovative strength, professional expertise and understanding of the market conditions will complement Woodward's continual development. A training programme devised by the Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG will introduce the young Woodward team to the PistenBully technology, in order to foster the design and development of trend-setting snow landscapes.

"Woodward has been actively involved in encouraging athletes in action sports for more than 30 years", explains Jody Churich, Managing Director of Woodward. "The partnership with the Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG means that we can now create the same experience in the snow that we have previously achieved in our other training facilities. With PistenBully we can build award-winning parks and pipes."

In addition to refining parks and pipes, the partnership is also an inspiration for the technology needed to create better and better snow groomers. The Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has already been working with Woodward since 2011. Boreal/Woodward Tahoe has refined particular features in close cooperation with the engineers and technicians of Kässbohrer All Terrain Vehicles Inc. in Reno, as well as contributing important ideas to improve the PistenBully Pro Series.

"We are thrilled and excited to enter a partnership with Woodward to improve the technology and features of the vehicles, so that we are able to supply the terrain that our customers want", says Dennis McGiboney, Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Kässbohrer All Terrain Vehicles in the USA. "Our cooperation with such a strongly committed company like Woodward / Powdr guarantees that our youth development programmes in the snow will be of benefit to the whole industry."

The partnership will be extended in the future to the Powdr holiday resorts of Park City Mountain Resort, Killington Resort and Mt. Bachelor, where first-class fun parks and halfpipes are being built in each resort with PistenBully. Public events will be held throughout the whole season at each of the resorts to give guests a closer look at exactly what can be created, and at how fun parks and pipes are built and maintained.
