ARAG Big Air took place in Mönchengladbach last weekend. With incredible acrobatic performances victory was achieved by Anna Gasser in the women's snowboard competition and Roope Tonteri in the men's, while Silvia Bertagna and Henrik Harlaut came first in the skiing. The German hope for victory, Lisa Zimmermann, came third after her success in Milan.
PistenBully has supported the FIS-event from the start – and together with partner Schneestern ensured smooth build-up of the snow on the mega ramp. The park professionals have once again delivered impressive proof of their expertise. The experts from Kempten are just the right people when such extraordinary feats are required. Thanks to the ideal tool of PistenBully, perfect machine-made snow from the JEVER Fun ski dome in Neuss and a wealth of expert knowledge from Schneestern, the ARAG Big Air last weekend impressed the participants with optimum competitive conditions.
PistenBully got to see behind the scenes before the event, helping the team to create the ramp, which was almost 50 metres high. Photos were taken over a two-week period, which have now been put together in a short film. Watch and see how the 130-tonne steel structure comes to life in a very short time and how the Schneestern team process 1,000 m3 of snow in just two days using the PistenBully. The snow came from the neighbouring JEVER Fun ski dome in Neuss. They focus on winter sports all year round there, i.e. the perfect conditions for this spectacular festival.
