SNOWsat Award

8 May 2018

SNOWsat winner of the Digital Mountain Awards 2018 for SNOWsat Analytics!

The Digital Mountain Awards 2018, conferred within the framework of the Mountain Planet Exhibition, rewards initiatives dedicated to digital innovation and customer experience in the tourism strategy of ski resorts and mountain territories. SNOWsat has won the Product Innovation / B2B Service award for SNOWsat Analytics, a new tool that collects and centralizes all the digital data of a resort on the same platform.

Data, a major issue for ski resorts
The digitization of ski resorts is gathering pace. Each of these resorts has digital data that come from numerous sources: ticketing, visitors, skiers, ski lifts, weather forecasting, power, snowfall, geographic information systems, safety equipment, snow depth measurement, data from compacting machinery, etc. The management of this data has not been centralized until now.

SNOWsat Analytics: a new tool that centralizes all the digital data of a resort on the same platform.
The purpose of SNOWsat Analytics is to link, combine, and enhance the assorted information that comes from numerous data sources available within the resort. The information and applications which could result from this will form the basis of future decisions aimed at improving the management of the resort. The utilization of the data after processing in a central space results in a huge competitive advantage which will enable efficiency and performance to be considerably improved. The use of resources such as power, snow, ski lift capacities, and even marketing campaigns will thereby be customized and optimized. And, at the end of the day, the advantages for those involved: benefiting from the pleasure of snow in comfort that is bigger, more personalized, and richer in attractions.

The Digital Mountain Awards reward initiatives and investments dedicated to digital innovation and customer experience in the tourist strategy of ski resorts and mountain territories. The jury, made up of professionals under the auspices of the National Association of Mountain Resort Mayors, of French Ski Regions (Domaines Skiables de France), and of members of the Digital Montagne committee, examined around forty applications and conferred an award in each of the 6 categories. Given the richness and diversity of the applications, a Special Jury Prize award and 3 Start-up of the Year awards were also handed out.
