Temperatures below zero and powder snow – there was plenty of that in the past few days in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg. The long-awaited snow was directly put to good use. More than 500 kindergarten and elementary school kids could make their first contact with skiing at the days of action that were jointly initiated by the ski associations of Baden-Württemberg (SBW) and PistenBully.
Recently, the Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has equipped 15 bases of the SBW with Mini-skis. Now it's: "Get out of the schools – get into the snow" – the timetables said "winter sports". Excited kids in Baiersbronn, Calmbach, Enzklösterle, Gosheim, Isny, Breitnau and Schluchsee tried many new things at different stations - from small ramps and jumps on Mini-skis to biathlon with laser guns and much more. As the grand finale, the kids took part in the PistenBully-Cup. This was a small course on Mini-skis on which they could directly compete with their class mates. In Enzklösterle the ski club had prepared a very special highlight: after having fun in the snow, the kindergarten kids could go for a ride in the local PistenBully. This was also welcomed by the ski club's trainers: "What a great day of action! Today 60 kids had plenty of fun with winter sports. They all really loved it. That was a wonderful junior program. Really cool!!!!“
For the ski clubs at the bases of the ski associations in Baden-Württemberg, such days of actions are an ideal initiative to win over the young. Never before could they interest kids in winter sports as uncomplicated as this. With these short Mini-skis, the first contact with snow and gliding over it can be learned very easily.
The purpose is to make kids love winter sports and so secure its future. More days of action will follow!
