A Story of Trust, Passion and Success:
15 New PistenBully 600 for Catedral Alta Patagonia
Some achievements go beyond numbers—they tell a story. That’s certainly true of the latest success in Argentina: together with long-time partner PistenBully Argentina, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has secured the largest single order ever placed in the Southern Hemisphere. Fifteen brand-new PistenBully 600 Polar snow groomers are headed to the renowned Catedral Alta Patagonia ski resort. But what makes this achievement truly remarkable isn’t just the number of machines—it’s the story behind it.
When Relationships Make the Difference
The decision in favor of Kässbohrer was about more than advanced technology or pricing. What truly mattered were the proven quality and durability of PistenBully machines—and above all, the trusted relationship built over decades.
For more than 45 years, Raul Perez has been traveling across Argentina as a service technician and PistenBully expert. Known in every ski area in the Andes, he’s trusted for his technical expertise, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to helping customers. His passion has inspired the next generation: he now works side by side with his son Nicolás and grandson Joaquin—a true family team.
Rolando Trappa, President of Catedral Alta Patagonia, explains why the resort chose PistenBully:
“What made the difference was the passion they bring to their work. For many years, the collaboration between Catedral, the Pérez Hardt family, and Kässbohrer has been excellent. Anyone who asks around in the ski areas knows the Pérez family—they are respected everywhere for their commitment. I especially value this three-generation family project, carried out with so much heart and dedication.”
Tough Negotiations, Honest Conversations – and Enthusiasm in the End
Once the contract was signed, the next phase began: shipping to Argentina, assembly in Bariloche, and on-time delivery to the Catedral and Chapelco ski areas. A team from Laupheim traveled to Argentina and worked hand in hand with Catedral’s crew to assemble, configure, and fine-tune the machines within just two weeks— including the installation of attachments such as front snow blowers and track setters.
Strong service, close communication, and teamwork once again proved to be the winning formula. A major success factor on the mountain is lead operator Philou Gilliot, who manages Catedral’s grooming fleet. With his experience, he gets the very best performance out of every PistenBully—especially important in a season with limited snowfall, where careful grooming is critical.
Building a Foundation for the Future
This success didn’t happen overnight—it’s the result of years of commitment. With the founding of Andes S.A.S. last year, Kässbohrer can now deliver spare parts faster, keep machines ready for use, and simplify logistics thanks to direct imports, eliminating bureaucratic delays—an important step for long-term customer support.
In addition to the 15 PistenBully 600 Polar machines for Catedral, three PistenBully 100s and three PistenBully 600s were delivered to other ski resorts across Argentina. Another six refurbished machines also entered service in the region. Step by step, Kässbohrer is strengthening its presence in Argentina.
A Success That Goes Beyond Numbers
The order from Catedral Alta Patagonia marks a milestone for Kässbohrer in Argentina. But behind the number of machines lies a deeper story: one of passion, trust, long-term relationships, and customer commitment. This success is the result of the dedicated work of many people—both in Argentina and at Kässbohrer headquarters in Laupheim.
Kässbohrer delivers more than machines—it delivers reliability, partnership, and enthusiasm.
PistenBully – driven by passion.
