PistenBully and SnowSat celebrate major successes in Japan
Strong growth, sustainable solutions, and intensive customer dialogue strengthen market presence in Asia
Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has achieved a series of significant successes in Japan: ten PistenBully 600 Select machines will be put into service this winter, 14 new SnowSat systems will be installed in three renowned ski resorts, and over 120 participants from all over Japan took part in practical service training. This is proof of the steadily growing confidence of Japanese customers in quality, technology, and service “Made in Laupheim.”
PistenBully 600 Select impresses with quality and sustainability
With the delivery of ten PistenBully 600 Select machines to various Japanese ski resorts, the Select concept has reached a new milestone. The extensively refurbished vehicles – technically and visually as good as new – stand for resource-efficient management and high product value.
Before the machines set off on their journey to Japan, they were completely dismantled, inspected, and repaired with original parts in Laupheim. Now, PistenBully machines are on their way to Japan, offering performance and reliability that is in no way inferior to that of a new vehicle – while at the same time being given a sustainable second life.
SnowSat takes off in Japan
Parallel to its success in the vehicle sector, SnowSat, the digital system for snow depth measurement and fleet control, is also becoming increasingly established on the Japanese market. A total of 14 systems will be installed in PistenBully snow groomers at three ski resorts for the coming winter season. They enable more efficient use of resources, greater safety, and consistently high slope quality – important factors for sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Happo One in particular is using SnowSat to support the generational change among its drivers: new drivers benefit from data-based decision-making aids and a digital overview of the terrain.
“SnowSat is more than just technology – it is the key to sustainable, safe, and efficient slope management,” says Felix Raubach, Sales Manager SnowSat. “The fact that we are now also successfully gaining a foothold in Japan demonstrates the strength of our international cooperation.”
On-site knowledge transfer: highly successful service training courses
Further evidence of the close ties with the Japanese market can be seen in the comprehensive service training courses that took place in September 2025 with the support of the Lotte Arai Ski Resort. 128 participants from all over Japan took part in the two-day seminars, which focused on practical troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical training. The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive: the direct exchange and the opportunity to work on real vehicles were rated as extremely valuable.
A strong signal from Japan
Whether through sustainable Select vehicles, digital innovation with SnowSat, or practical training, recent successes clearly show that PistenBully and SnowSat are on the road to success in Japan. “Japan is a very special market for us,” emphasizes the sales team. “The strong trust of our customers and partners motivates us to fulfill our quality and service promises every day.”
