What will the Funslope elements of the future look like? That’s the question Young Mountain and PistenBully were asking all the Funslope fans. The result – 219 creative ideas from 99 participants were sent in and closely examined by an expert jury. The twelve best drafts will be realized and tested with regard to their fun and suitability factor at the Showcase Funslope in Sölden on April 29 and 30, 2017. Just read on to find out what these elements will look like and how to take part in the first test runs!
The expert jury evaluates the designs from three perspectives
“Innovation, practicability, safety and efficiency – these were among the major aspects according to which the jury was judging the many creative submissions. It really wasn’t an easy decision but now we’ve finally collected the best ideas for our showcase facility and we’re totally looking forward to building it in Sölden,” says Jürgen Kipperer – one of the managers of young mountain marketing ltd. As the one responsible for 90 Snowparks and Funslopes in 6 countries, he knows exactly what to judge the ideas on. Besides him, Thilo Vogelgsang – manager of the marketing and communications department of the Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG – was the second member of the expert jury and was delighted about the number of submissions and inventiveness: “I’m stunned about how much enthusiasm went into this idea contest. An incredible number of 219 designs were submitted and it was really hard to select the best ones. Besides innovation, it was very important for me to find elements that are transportable and maintainable on the mountain.” The third jury member is a real rock of the freestyle scene. Christian Scheidl not only has experience in building Snowparks, he also coaches the Snowboard Austria team. On top of his judging certificate for diverse freestyle events, he has the direct connections to the up-and-coming winter sports scene. To delight and motivate them is the clear goal of every Funslope and this is why Christian is the ideal candidate for our expert jury.
